Tensions in Chittoor After Ambedkar Statue Set on Fire
Amaravati: Unidentified assailants set fire to Ambedkar's statue. The incident took place in Devalampeta, Vedurukuppam mandal, Chittoor district, after midnight on Thursday. CM Chandrababu Naidu became serious after learning the information. Ministers Vangalapudi Anitha and Dola Sri Balaveeranjaneyaswamy were advised to take strict action against those responsible. The incident fueled political strife between the ranks of TDP and YSRCP. Representatives of various parties and Dalit organizations reached Devalampeta and protested demanding strict punishment of the culprits.
