Green signal for Sawalkot project on Chenab
New Delhi: After the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, the central government has focused on several key projects in Jammu and Kashmir. In this context, a key step has been taken towards obtaining environmental clearance for the previously suspended Sawalkot Hydropower Project on the Chenab River. An expert committee of the Union Environment Ministry has recommended in a recent meeting seeking environmental clearance for this project to be set up on the Chenab River in Jammu and Kashmir.
