Pharma giant Johnson & Johnson has suffered a major setback in a talcum powder case. 88-year-old Mae Moore, who used the powder, died of a rare cancer called mesothelioma in 2021. The victim’s family approached a USA court, which imposed a hefty fine of $966 million (Rs. 8,000 crore) on the company after a long trial. However, the company will appeal the verdict. 63,000 cases have already been registered against the company.
