Reorganization of Panchayats into 4 grades: Pawan
Andhra Pradesh: Deputy CM Pawan said that the panchayats are being strengthened. He said that the cabinet meeting decided to abolish the cluster system in the gram panchayats. He said that instead of 7,244 clusters, 13,351 gram panchayats are being considered as independent administrative units. He said that the panchayats are being reorganized into four grades. He explained that the name of the village secretary has been changed to Panchayat Development Officer.
