Prime Minister Modi today launched the Pulses Self-Reliance Mission to make the country self-sufficient in pulses. Under this scheme, the Centre aims to increase the area under pulses from 275 lakh hectares to 310 lakh hectares by 2030-31. The Centre aims to increase the production of pulses from 242 lakh to 350 lakh metric tonnes and increase the crop productivity per hectare from 881 kg to 1,130 kg.
